Domain Ownership and Renewal Policy

1. You own your domain

Domains we register for you are registered with you (or your business) as the registrant. Cholan Technology Solutions Limited acts only as your administrative and technical contact. We will never claim ownership of your domain or hold it back as leverage.

2. Pricing

Domain registration costs $15 per domain per year (or the Naira equivalent shown at checkout). Domain fees are charged separately from website subscriptions and custom development. Some extensions (for example certain country or premium domains) cost more, and we will tell you the price before registering.

3. Registration

• We register your domain once the domain fee has been paid and verified.
• Domain names are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. A domain may become unavailable before payment is completed, in which case we will refund the domain fee or help you choose another.
• Registries require accurate registrant details. You must provide correct information and keep it up to date.

4. Renewal

• Domains are registered for one year at a time and must be renewed every year.
• Domain renewals are billed separately from your website subscription, even if you are on an annual plan.
• We send reminders before your domain expires. Renewal is only processed once payment has been received.
• It is your responsibility to pay for renewal on time. We are not liable for a domain that expires because a renewal was not paid.

5. Expiry

If a domain is not renewed, it will stop working (your website and any email on that domain will go offline). Most registries offer a short recovery period after expiry, during which the domain can be restored, sometimes with a redemption fee charged by the registry. After that, the domain may be released and registered by someone else.

6. Cancelling your website

Cancelling your website subscription does not cancel or take away your domain. You can keep renewing it with us, point it to another website provider, or transfer it away.

7. Transfers

You can transfer your domain to another registrar at any time, subject to registry rules (for example, many domains cannot be transferred within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer). On request we will provide the authorisation code and remove any transfer lock. Outstanding domain fees owed to us must be settled first. We do not charge a fee to release your domain.

8. Existing domains

If you already own a domain, you can keep it with your current registrar and we will help you connect it to your website. In that case you remain responsible for renewing it with your registrar.

9. Disputes and lawful use

You are responsible for making sure your domain does not infringe anyone else's trademark or rights. Domain disputes are handled under the rules of the relevant registry. See also our Terms and Conditions.
